National Donut Week Baking Ideas

One of the best ways to get creative with baking is by exploring the wonderful world of donuts! National Donut Week runs from the 11th to the 18th May so we thought it would be a great idea to put together some delicious donut bakes for you to try at home. Enjoy!

Chocolate Birthday Cake Doughnuts

The first donuts we have on our list are these colourful chocolate birthday cake donuts. They feature a chocolate base with extravagant purple, blue and pink icing to top it off. These look especially good with a candle in the top to help celebrate a special day. This recipe makes 12 donuts.

Blueberry Peanut Butter Baked Donuts

Next up we have a more subtle, but by no means less tasty blueberry peanut butter baked donut. These donuts are made from oat flour and make a tasty breakfast alternative to spice up your morning food routine. This recipe is also completely vegan and gluten free!

 

Lemon Meringue Donuts

Thirdly we have these amazing Lemon Meringue donuts. These donuts are filled with a deliciously zingy lemon curd and topped with a toasted meringue to give a truly show-stopping appearance. They can be made in around 2 hours and will serve 12.

 

Gluten Free Apple Pie Donuts

Next we have these amazing gluten free apple pie donuts. This recipe is topped with a sweet sticky cooked apple glaze as well as featuring a delicious spongey base made from sweet potatoes. This recipe can be made in around 40 minutes and will serve 15.

 

Coconut Cream Donuts

The fifth donut idea on our list are these coconut cream donuts. This recipe features a creamy custard inner that perfectly complements its toasted coconut glaze topping. We especially love the coconut flakes on top! This recipe can be made in around an hour.

 

Lavender Rose Baked Vegan Donuts

The final bake on our list are these beautiful lavender rose donuts. These look absolutely amazing and we especially love the use of culinary rose petals to give these an added touch. Additionally, this recipe is completely vegan!
